Students Learning to play the piano at sannat special unit

At Sannat Special Unit students are learning to play the piano by following the Figurenotes system. Figurenotes is a simple system designed to introduce the first steps in learning to read music. Each musical note has a corresponding coloured symbol. With the help of stickers on the piano, learners play what they see. Rhythm is clear and literal, making music less abstract and more accessible. https://figurenotes.org/

World Cancer Day

Today is ‘World Cancer Day’. Our school is participating in the second edition of “Walk with Jerome Event” hosted by ‘Smiling with Jerome Foundation’. Today our Kinder classes went for a walk and gave a donation in support of the ‘Chemo Bags of Hope’ initiative. Classes in the Primary and Special Unit will follow next week. Although Chemotherapy is very important to the Cancer patient, ‘Chemo Bags of Hope’, full of specialised items, help them with their Mental Health Wellbeing. Smiling with Jerome

The Waving Flag

The Waving Flag is an initiative organised in collaboration with the Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society and The Malta Trust Foundation to celebrate the 2022 World Interfaith Harmony Week. The flag was created by the students of Year 6.1 under the guidance of Ms Bernardette Vella and Mr Eric Xuereb from the Special Unit. Hope is an optimistic state of mind cherished by all the different faiths and religions around the world. Hope can therefore be a unifying factor that consolidates the mutual understanding and respect among all faiths. The Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society
