Year 5 Class – Baking Muffins

Math can be fun—and even delicious,

With lessons that go beyond the ambitious.

In the kitchen, we mix and we bake,

Muffins and numbers, for learning’s sake.

Recipes guide us; we measure with care,

Fractions and units fill up the air.

A cup of flour, a teaspoon of salt,

Math in action, without a halt.

Adding and counting, we double the batch,

Multiplying skills that will surely catch.

Sequencing steps, each one in its place,

Math meets muffins—a sweet embrace!

In each tasty bite, a lesson anew,

Learning’s more fun when it’s practical, too.

With cross-curricular flavours in every taste,

Math becomes a treat—not a test to waste!

Participating in Educational Competition in relation to the Games of the Small States of Europe

Michele Camilleri and Matthias Pace, who were in Year 5.1during last scholastic year, have been shortlisted as finalists of the educational competition in relation to the Games of the Small States of Europe that were hosted in Malta last June.

Today they attended an event held at the premises of the Maltese Olympic Committee and were rewarded with commemorative gifts and prizes. Well done Michele and Matthias. We are proud of you 👏

Chess Activity

In Year 5 and 6 classes, a chess activity took place at our school, sponsored by the Malta Chess Federation. The federation contributed five chess boards, pieces and two clock timers. A heartfelt thanks to Mr. Robert Novak, the coach from The Malta National Chess Team for the presentation. We would also like to thank Mr Chris Fava (Sports Promotion for Gozitan Schools).

Playing chess offers numerous benefits for our students, including critical thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, logical reasoning, strategic and patience.

Our students enthusiastically immersed themselves in playing Chess and appreciated a lot the generous donation.
