EUROPEANS TOGETHER FOR EARTH (ete)

About the project

Climate change in the whole of Europe and the related issue concerning water resources are themes that concern all the countries and their people and have become existential problems to us all. The children under our care are faced with the changing environment daily in their school and family lives. They experience concrete results of climate change both indirectly and directly. These themes affect all aspects of their daily lives (school, family, neighbourhood, surrounding plant and animal life, as well as food production and use). The most important aspect of this project is increasing the children’s awareness of these issues and participation in protecting the water resources and in reducing the strain put on the environment that leads to climate change.

AIMS

The fundamental goal is for the students to both think and act in a sustainable way, initiated through understanding European and worldwide processes and being aware of one’s own options through comparing developments in the various European countries. Within the first project year, the central working topics will include usage and wasting of water as well as preserving the water resources. Through this the students will identify problem areas and work on possibilities of saving water at school and at home.
During the second project year the focus on the partners’ agenda will be on climate, climate change and personal contribution to climate protection.
The themes will be explored through cross-curricular study (weather program, artwork).
