Year 6.1 and 6.2 classes exploring Valletta

Years 6.1 and 6.2 embarked on an in-depth exploration of Valletta’s lesser-known historical treasures, uncovering hidden gems and fascinating stories that shaped the city’s rich past. Away from the more popular tourist paths they learned about the everyday lives of Valletta’s early residents. Each discovery brought new perspectives on Malta’s capital, revealing layers of history often missed by the casual observer.

Year 6 classes – Outing at Santa Lucija

An outing like no other: Year 6.1 and 6.2 students exploring the historic, underground water galleries and canals of Ghar Ilma, in Santa Lucija, limits of Kercem. Built by the British in 1880, these canals provided fresh water from Ghar Ilma to Victoria, via the aqueducts seen on our way to Ta’ Pinu Church.

Year 6 – Tiny Teen Science Café

‘Tiny Teen Science Café’, an activity for Year 6 students and parents/guardians, intended to promote STEM careers among primary students. We extend our gratitude to our guest speakers: Dr. J. Bigeni (Medical Doctor), Captain Philip Cardona (Pilot), Ms. M. Sciortino (Statistician and Researcher), and Mr. Dave and Ms. Pam Mason (Shark-Lab Malta), who generously shared their time and experiences with us. A heartfelt thanks goes to our science teacher, Ms. Mariosa, for her dedication in coordinating this event and ensuring it was a fun and enlightening learning opportunity.

Chess Activity

In Year 5 and 6 classes, a chess activity took place at our school, sponsored by the Malta Chess Federation. The federation contributed five chess boards, pieces and two clock timers. A heartfelt thanks to Mr. Robert Novak, the coach from The Malta National Chess Team for the presentation. We would also like to thank Mr Chris Fava (Sports Promotion for Gozitan Schools).

Playing chess offers numerous benefits for our students, including critical thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, logical reasoning, strategic and patience.

Our students enthusiastically immersed themselves in playing Chess and appreciated a lot the generous donation.
