Art Lesson with Year 6 – Frottage technique

These photos show an Art lesson ‘En plein air’ (drawing outside) in the school playground. The students were given an explanation on what frottage technique means in class.
This technique is when one places different objects underneath the paper and start rubbing (scribbling) using a pencil on the paper. The visual texture of the objects forms on the paper.
Objects used for frottage could be leaves, stones, tree barks, walls etc…

Dental Hygiene

This scholastic year,  the school is promoting dental hygiene. Apart from examining students’ teeth, the dental hygienist gave talks to students on how to take better care of their teeth. At the  special unit, parents were encouraged during IEP meetings, to give importance to dental hygiene. This was documented as one of the aims of the IEP as regards parental involvement.
