Year 6 Outing to Ramla

Let’s Talk Farming: Ramla Valley style. Our Year 6 class headed off to the gorgeous golden-red sands of Ramla Bay, at the edge of a highly fertile valley located between Nadur and Xaghra. This luscious valley is the home of a family-run country estate that produces one of the finest extra-virgin olive oils in the Maltese Islands, the award-winning Ramla Valley EVOO. Special thanks go to our own Mr George Carl Camilleri who took us on a wonderful tour around the olive groves and fruit orchards of Ramla Valley. The highlight of the whole outing was the tasting of different blends of Ramla Valley EVOO together with other local delicacies produced by Ramla Valley. Mr Camilleri also gave a detailed insight into the history of Ramla Bay, including the ruins of the Roman Villa and the intricate system of batteries, entrenchment walls and redoubt built by the Knights of St John during the late 18th century.
